Family History Day at SPAN

March 15, 2014 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Person painting a flower in an artistic history workshop.Together, we have been researching the history of women’s work in the local area. As part of the Know Your Bristol project, a group of women from Single Parent Action Network have been working alongside researchers from the University to find out about the hidden history of women and work.

On Saturday we present a family-friendly celebration of art and history to showcase our work. There will be art activities for all ages including:

  • Exhibition on all-day of showcasing the research we have done on women’s work in Easton.
  • See our contributions to and learn about the Know Your Place map.
  • History taster session 12pm – 1pm
  • Talk by historian and activist Ellen Malos from 2.15pm-3pm
  • Café open all-day – pop in at any point during the day!
  • Free creche!

We are excited about sharing our findings with you, and the people who have helped us along the way.
